Devil’s Backbone Brewing Tap Takeover

Devil’s Backbone Brewery is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a few miles off the Appalachian Trail in Lexington, VA. The Four Beers featured at One Stop’s Growler Station TAP TAKEOVER are: Kilt Flasher, Skull Crushing Ape, Trail Angel Weiss, and Eight Point IPA.

1. Kilt Flasher – In 2014, the Kilt Flasher took home the Best of Old Ale Craft Beer Bronze Medal. The Kilt Flasher is a Hearty Scottish Ale perfect year round. It is an Ale Beer packed with Toffee and Toasted Malt Flavors. Much like the early Scottish settlers of the Virginia Highlands, it has a robustness that stands up to anything! ABV – 8%  IBU: 20
2. Skull Crushing Ape – The beer combines subtle Chocolate notes from the Schwarz Beer; Banana and Spice from Weiss Beer; and finishes with the intensity of Dopple Bock Beer.  It’s a trifecta of beers – “Chocolate, Banana, Punch”! ABV – 8% IBU:20
3. Trail Angel Weiss – The Bavarian-style Hefeweizen Beer is honey colored, light to medium body with a fruity and spicy finish.  The combo of Honey, Banana, and Clove is perfect for your summer day on a trail or at the lake. ABV: 4.7% IBU:12
4. Eight Point IPA – This is the first batch brewed at Devils Backbone Brewing Company in 2008. When Jason Oliver (Brewmaster) saw two young and proud eight point bucks walking near the brewery, he decided to name this IPA Beer after them. The spirit of the Eight Point Beer combines Citrus and Pine for a nice “Cold Snap” on a hot summer day!  ABV: 6.2%  IBU: 60.
